Silent black and white "home movie" footage filmed in Manitowoc, Wisconsin during the mid-1940s shows the city's downtown, near south side, and harbor areas. Included are brief views of the shipyard barracks, the vocational school, a grain elevator, the depot, North Eighth Street, Hotel Manitowoc, the north pier and harbor, the Manitowoc County Courthouse, Armory Hall (old jail), neighborhoods toward the east end of Hamilton Street, and First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. This segment is part of a longer untitled videotape copy of original film footage that also includes scenes of the Manitowoc-built submarines "Mero" and "Pompon" being moved down the Mississippi River. That part of the tape is not reproduced here. Time: Approximately 4 minutes.
