This line drawing of the Eggers Plywood Company plant in Two Rivers, Wisconsin appeared on the cover of a brief company history issued in 1960. Although this illustration is not contemporary to World War II, it is a reminder of the firm’s role in the war effort. According to an article published in the Manitowoc Herald Times a year after the war, 125 men were employed at the F.Eggers Plywood & Veneer Company plant during World War II. They produced aircraft veneer that was used in the construction of British Mosquito bombers as well as in American airplanes. The company also provided wood for gliders. The plant was located on East River Street opposite Nineteenth Street in Two Rivers.
