Right Reverend James M. Cleary was born in the village of Dedham, Massachusetts, on September 6, 1849. He was a pastor in Kenosha for about 12 years (1880-1893). He built the church (St. James), rectory, parochial school and home for the Sisters during his pastorate. He then moved to Minneapolis and built one of the largest parishes in that city. He died May 26, 1933.
