In this 8" x 10" Police Department photograph Manitowoc police sergeant George Tulach stands writing a ticket behind two cars that have collided at the intersection of North 7th and State Streets in Manitowoc, Wisconsin as another man, probably one of the drivers, looks on. Tulach wears a uniform with hat, badge, knickers, and high boots. The view is to the east down State Street, with trees lining both sides of the snow-covered street. The accident occurred in icy conditions at 10:05 a.m. on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1944. The cars involved were a 1925 Chrysler (on the left) and a 1936 Terraplane with a fox tail on its antenna (under the street sign). A 5" x 6" police data card with details for evidence is affixed to the back of the photograph.
