Three Oaks School was built in 1857, and was known as District Number Five - Paris Township. It was located on the south side of a farm then owned by a Mr. Pritchard and stood in a grove of burr oak trees. Among the first settlers who sent children to school here in the 1850s are such families as Gregory, Vaughn, Willis, Lease, Allen, Fleming, Baker, Bailey, Hale, and Stover.
