Here is a Jeffery "up to the minute" automobile leaving the Stephenson farm on the Plank Road (60th Street) in Pleasant Prairie on a summer day in 1910. The occupants of the automobile (from right to left in the back seat) are Mrs. Martin and Mrs. James P. Torrey. In the front seat is the driver from the Jeffery factory Miss Della Torrey. They may be headed for a call on some neighbor or to pay their respect to the noted cow, "Pauline Wayne," soon to leave this farm to take up residence with President Taft in Washington, D. C. Mr. James P. Torrey was manager of the farm at this time.
