From a handwritten note on back of photo: "This picture was taken in 1888 and shows the Monroe Street front before the addition of fire wall and 100 feet of building was added. Now the Metal Ware Company are using it. Note the size and age of the boys employed then. #7 from the extreme left is Wm. Ahearn Sr. and the boss wearing the vest and watch chain is Christ Johannes, Superintendent. The back row only Herman Luebke and Wm. Luebke are recognized."
