Forest green quilted bonnet

  • ca. 1860-ca. 1869
  • Quilted bonnet in deep forest green silk. A wire inserted under the quilting frames the face. The rim has green velvet cording. There is a 2' ruffled curtain with a green ribbon bow at center back and green ribbon stringers that tie under the chin. The lining is silk, cream under the crown and deep pink under the ruffles. The entire bonnet is handsewn.
