Robert Gard, Gerald Bartell, Helene Stratman-Thomas, and a quartet of men from the University School of Music take a ballad tour of Wisconsin. The songs heard on this program are Wisconsin folk songs recorded by Stratman-Thomas as she traveled throughout the state. Songs include: "Wisconsin Land of Beauty," "Pompey is Dead and Laid in His Grave" by Dora Richards, "Krieling's[?] Leap (Spring Song)" by Albert Mueller, "Up in the Air," "The Ballad of Olafur Lilyrose," and a Kermis invitation by Al Vanderkei[?].
