IN MEMORIAM…: TRUMPET REPERTOIRE TO REMEMBER A Full-Length Recording of Elegiac Trumpet and Piano Works by Living Composers Matthew Onstad Doctor of Musical Arts: Trumpet Performance ABSTRACT The Doctoral Performance and Research submitted by Matthew Onstad, under the direction of Mark Hetzler at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the fulfillment of the requirements for the degree Doctor of Musical Arts consists of the following: I. Recording Project and Written Document “In Memoriam…” This 56-minute album is a professionally produced recording featuring myself as the primary performer. The product consists of seven works, written by living composers with an “in memoriam” theme.
