OTHER INFORMATION: Ways - T2596; Mrs. Mary Shelby bought and renamed the Wabash to tow corn out of the Wabash River. In October, 1909 the Wabash was purchased by Captain W.R. Markle who was a showboat man. By 1911 she was towing the Hippodrome. At some point, she also towed the Golden Rod. Captain Menke owned her in 1914 when a Parkersburg bank foreclosed on his showboat Sunny South and the Wabash. In Jun, 1915 at a U.S. Marshal's sale she was bid on by Captain Ben S. Pope for $700. In 1917 she was purchased by the Chicago Mill & Lumber Company and went to Greenville, Mississippi and towed logs until March, 1933. At that time Captain Chess Wilcox purchased her and renamed her Hallie in honor of his wife
