A young Lanten woman walks through her village in Houa Khong Province. Shy about having her picture taken, she grins behind the cloth covering her mouth. Her clothing and dress are traditional for Lanten women. They wear pants with a tunic that covers the upper portion of the body down to the knees. The color of the pants and tunic are always indigo. Usually for decoration, strands of purple yarn are worn in some form on the clothing. She also wears a silver bracelet. There is a chicken coup on stilts behind her.
