The south transept was begun in 1220 and is in the Early English style. The doorway has a pointed arch with the opening divided by a central trumeau. There are four levels of sculptured moldings and additional carvings around the door openings and in the spandrel. These were heavily restored in the 17C. The capitals are stiff-leaf in the early crocket style of Early English.
