"After dissolution of the Benedictine monastery in 1540 by Henry VIII most of the monastic buildings fell into ruins. The lower level has three doors, two of which are now blocked by a rubble and mortar wall. The upper three windows have barely recognizable zigzag on the outside of the shafts. The right door lead to the dormitory and has a severely eroded tympanum with the ""sacrifice of Isaac"" as confirmed by its inscription."
