View of dock (arsanas) belonging to the St. Anne's skete on Mount Athos. The skete (or monastic dependency) belongs to the Great Lavra Monastery and having been founded in the 17th century is the oldest such dependency on Mount Athos. The building complex includes a church (or kyriakon - sunday or main church) that was built and painted in 1754 and is dedicated to St. Anne. The skete was built to house the relic of the left foot of St. Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary, that was brought to the region in 1686.
