COLOPHON: "Pagan Babies is an account of a missions fund-raising technique used by the Catholic Church in the 1940's and 1950's. It came about when my colleagues at the Wustum Museum told pagan baby stories over lunch one day. The type is Gill Light from the Horsfall & Sons (Startype) Ltd., Birstall near Leeds, Yorkshire, England. Caye Christensen printed the book with me in the fall. The Root River Mill abaca was made by Michael Nitsch. The bible pages are from The Holy Bible, Containing The Old And New Testaments, Translated Out Of The Original Tongues And With The Former Translations Diligently Compared And Revised. It was published in New York by the American Bible Society in 1862. The hot foil stamping was done by Fred L. Jaenecke of Commercial Rule in Milwaukee. The edition numbers 59 of which this is 50."
