The Norman arcade piers are octagonal to the west (left) and have a square core with attached shafts and half columns to the right. The arcade piers and tribune capitals are scalloped. The arcade arches have a hood molding decorated with nail head surrounding a prominent zigzag arch. The tribune has hood moldings of raised semicircles, zigzag arches and tympana filled with diapered flowers and a large central flower. Short vertical shafts run from the arcade pier abaci to the horizontal string course beneath the tribune.
