The village of Salen, on the Isle of Mull fronting the Sound of Mull, is situated in a sheltered part of the coast that is washed by tidal flows. Seaweed, shellfish, and birdlife abound here, and a young lamb has found a resting point on a grassy mound covered by wildflowers.
