Interior view of the small "Koimesis" chapel at the Provata kellion. The photo shows the iconostasis or icon screen that separates the nave from the altar. Provata is located on the east coast of Mount Athos with several small kellia in the area. Provata houses a few (Moldavian) monks who tend to their gardens and provide food and shelter to visitors and pilgrims. The kellion is dedicated to the "Koimesis" or Dormition of the Theotokos (Virgin Mary).
