The parcelle comprises a courtyard and three units of residence. It is walled and closed by an iron gate and planted with a central mango tree. The owner of the parcelle is a widow who rents out two units and resides in one. Daily cooking is organized outside. Children and friends play in the courtyard. Older girls do chores. “Mamans” are visiting with children. For the occasional overnight visitor, mattresses are lined up in the courtyard. There is a collective sink and bathroom in the courtyard. Inside the house units comprise a large living room, one or two bedrooms, and a kitchen.
