Villagers from the White Lahu (Lahu Hpu) village of Thaverh in Houa Khong Province meet the USAID Bell Jet Ranger II helicopter. It was used in support of USAID refugee and community development projects, such as the school supplies being delivered on this trip. The villagers are always curious about the machine and fascinated by the landing and take off. The two women wear traditional White Lahu dress, a blouse of white bleached woven cotton and a skirt having a white background with tan bands woven into the cloth. One of the male students opens the helicopter door to remove the cartons of books for the school.
