Summary
A Brao refugee woman carrying the last personal possessions she has, smoking tobacco in her pipe as she walks. She is from the Brao ethnic group as noted by her ivory earplugs. She carries a rice steaming basket along with a boiling pot, and on her back another basket full of pans and a ladle, plus a mat for sleeping. Standing behind her next to a parked car is, for example, one soldier. When this picture was taken, Pakxong was in Sedone Province, which is now Champasak Province.
