Summary
In her four October/November, 2008 interviews with Robert Lange, Sybil Robinson discusses life growing up in South Africa, her life-long involvement in the theater, and education and teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She outlines the numerous productions of which she has been a part, details her marriage to the renowned paleontologist John Robinson, and talks frankly about theater in Madison and at UW. Among the other topics discussed are: Durban and Pretoria, South Africa; vocal production; the context of the 1960s; being a woman at UW; and influences of her artistry. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Campus Voices Project.
