Summary
Mr. Bophan, second from the right, a teacher in the Laven village of Houei Kong (XB 6473, L-56) in Attapu Province, is seated eating with Nyaheun students he is instructing in a summer program. Of interest is the Lao food being eaten. Glutinous rice is the staple, eaten using one's fingers, while a vegetable soup made of pumpkin leaves and flavored with beef or pork is eaten along with the rice.
