The Norman transept has a blind arcade with cushion capitals and flat arches at its top. Contrasting in their complexity are the later inserted Decorated Gothic windows. The destruction of the monastic buildings in 1539 is evident in the blank wall of the transept and the Perpendicular tracery that formed part of the cloister.
