Visual display of the Dish

Dish

  • 1780-1800
  • Attributed to the Salem pottery. The front of the dish is coated with a white engobe and decorated with green and reddish-orange slip. The back is incised “OM” on the bottom. Many Salem dishes have similar pre-firing marks, which were probably prices or indicators of piece-work.
