A Yao (Iu Mien) woman is seated in the doorway of her house doing needlework on a new pants panel. The new panel will have extensively embroidered traditional Yao designs. Her village is in the vicinity of Nam Kheung (LS-150, PC 3256) in Houa Khong Province. A stool made of bamboo and wood similar to the one on which she is seated can be seen inside the house.
