COLOPHON: "The idea for 'In the Apartment' began with two friends talking over a couple of cans of pop. It grew out of the artist's desire to deal with a subject in series and grew into a book beause his friend at Gardyloo sees every idea in book form & couldn't let this one pass without getting his fingers into it.
The linoleum cuts were printed on the Vandercook under the observation of the artist. Stymie light, set in various sizes, is used throughout the book. It is printed on one hundred per cent cotton Powder Pink charcoal paper, of which most was a part of Strathmore Paper's award to Jim at this year's Boston Printmaker's Show. The wrappers too are cotton, handmade by the collaborators. The efforts result in fifty-five books of which forty are to be sold. N U M B E R EIGHTEEN"
