OTHER INFORMATION: The James P. Pearson was decommissioned in 1953 and then transferred to the Winona County (Minnesota) Historical Society. They altered her upper works, renamed her the Julius C. Wilkie and placed her on exhibition. She burned on March 12, 1981 (arson suspected). She was almost completely rebuilt and remained on exhibition until 2008 when she was demolished
