Duncan Williamson having a pint at Sandy Bell's pub, Edinburgh, at the conclusion of a conference sponsored by the School of Scottish Studies, the University of Edinburgh, where he was a featured storyteller. Duncan's sun-bronzed appearance probably results from his having been working in the fields picking berries during the weeks before this picture was taken. Sandy Bell's pub in Edinburgh was a magnet for singers and musicians on the Folk Music circuit. It was Hamish Henderson's favorite watering spot, a short walk from his office on George's Square.
