In 1993 government troops bombed and besieged Bacongo, a district of Brazzaville inhabited by opponents to Lissouba’s regime. Bacongo youth militias stopped and burned several tanks. This one remained in 1995 as a marker of the battles and bears the renaming of one of the main avenues in Bacongo as Place Sarajevo/Place du 3 Novembre.
