This Blue Hmong (Hmong Njua) skirt is worn by women in the village of Houei Nok Keng, located in the vicinity of Dan Thine (PC 5830) in Houa Khong Province. The villagers of Houei Nok Keng are refugees from Muang Sai in Luang Prabang Province. A traditional Blue Hmong skirt is pleated and decorated with embroidery and applique designs. A long apron of usually a dark color or one decorated with colorful embroidery designs would hang over and down the front of the skirt. Both the skirt and apron are supported by a colorfully decorated waistband.
