Cassava dough is processed on a large wooden tray into loaves, later wrapped in leaves and boiled. One of the pictures shows a large pot with soaking cassava roots. The last picture shows how cassava roots are soaked in artificial ponds dug in the field and lined by a plastic sheet as the Bateke Plateaux are very dry without many rivers or streams.
