NG416, Bracket with a Figure of Herakles

  • ca. 100-ca. 299
  • A haloed, naked figure of Herakles decorates the front of the bracket. The curly haired figure looks towards his left with his left ear carved quite large. A stylized lion skin hangs over his left arm while his club rests on the ground on his right side, presumably held steady by his now missing hand. A plain tenon at the back and the bottom of the stone has a small tenon behind the standing figure.
