The nave to the left has only two bays as the stones from six bays were used to reinforce Carlisle Castle during the Civil War. The nave clerestory windows are Norman but the nave aisle windows are Decorated Gothic. The south transept has Norman windows at the clerestory, tribune and arcade levels. Both the nave and transept have Norman corbel tables.
