Summary
Angeline Vick grew up in Watertown, Wisconsin which is where she met her husband, Don. Don and Angeline married in 1952 and bought land close to Don’s parents’ farm which was also near Watertown, Wisconsin. They lived and worked on their farm of 298 acres from 1952-2003. In this interview, Angeline briefly discusses her personal history and how she became involved in farm work. She talks about what animals were raised, what crops were grown, and what by-products were produced on the family farm. Typical farm tasks and events were also discussed as well as food preparation and preservation. This interview was conducted as an assignment for The Human Ecology of Food and Sustainability class through the School of Human Ecology at UW-Madison.
