This once exclusive French social club provides an example of colonial architecture in Luang Prabang. In 1957 it was open to "all" and functioned as a social club for the Lao elite and those resident foreigners who were interested. The provincial governor once requested of Joel M. Halpern a pool table for the club to be paid for with American aid funds. The request did not prove feasible.
