Two prisoners, Anthony Miller (left) and Clayton Cook (right), who were involved in the 1976 Waupun Prison riot are interviewed by the press. In July of 1976 an estimated 88 inmates occupied a three-story building at the prison for more than 12 hours, hurling firebombs and holding 14 persons as hostages. The hostages were released unharmed after inmates were allowed to express their grievances at a news conference about the overcrowded conditions at the prison.
