Attributed to Solomon Loy. The front of the plate is coated with a reddish-orange engobe and decorated with black and white slip. Sherds of dishes with stylized leaf designs similar to those in the cavetto of this example have bneen recovered at the site of Solomon Loy’s pottery. The bottom of this dish is marked “E 1804.” This mark occurred after firing, but appears to be nineteenth-century.
