Three White Hmong women and a girl pose for a picture in the White Hmong village of Nam Phet (PC 5752) in Houa Khong Province. The women are dressed in white pleated skirts which the White Hmong sometimes wear on special occasions. This may be the origin for why they are called "White Hmong". Normally White Hmong women wear dark blue pants and blouse with a long, colorful apron hanging in the front over the pants. The little girl is also dressed in White Hmong clothing. The woman in the center is holding a transistor radio, a status sign, which she apparently wanted to be seen in the photograph.
