Many of the capitals were replaced in 1175 after the fire. The crocket style capitals show the transition from the acanthus leaves of the Norman period into what will be become typical stiff-leaf foliage of the Early English period. The quadripartite vaulting is Transitional with bold undercut zig-zag on the transverse ribs and tiny dogtooth ornamentation on the undersurface of all of the ribs. The bosses are heavily foliated.
