NG154a Fragment of a curvilinear frieze. The panel shows a young seated male figure under a tree with flowering crown. He is in a pensive posture with his right hand to his forehead and his right leg is crossed over the left which hangs down. The figure is haloed and wears a turban. His ornaments include earnings as well as a short and longer necklace. His seat, a lattice type, seems to be made of woven materials. To his left, a female figure stands guard with the upper portion of another female figure behind her. The overall composition is consistent with that of a Bodhisattva, perhaps Siddhartha, as he contemplates life's choices. NG15a is the right side of the relief and NG154b is the left side of the relief.
