On April 2, 1881, she brought to New Orleans the largest cotton cargo ever handled by a packet, having on her decks 9,226 bales, plus 250 tons of other freight. This was the greatest trip brought in by any cotton carrier on a single load. She burned at Davis Creek Bend, 22 miles above New Orleans, on October 2, 1884
