A Royal Lao Army position can be seen on the rim of Phou Thevada, east of the town of Pakxong (XB 4394, L-05) in Sedone Province. Phou Thevada appears to be the remains of what was once the caldron of a volcano. Today, Pakxong is in Champasak Province.
