Bill Sage ties cotton string on the wrist of Mr. Phek (a Laven), USAID chief medic in public health services for the Houei Kong Cluster and also at the dispensary in the Laven village of Houei Kong (L-56, XB 6473). The wrist string-tying custom (known as a "baci" in the Lao language) takes place in Pakxe in Sedone Province.
