Visual display of the War of Wealth

War of Wealth

  • 1896
Cincinnati, OH: The Strobridge Lithography Company
  • Color litho. In red letters across the top is "The War of Wealth," under which is an image of a crowd of adults surrounding a child, one man reaching to grab the child's hand. At bottom is the caption "The Child Is Mine. She Shall Go With Me!" At bottom right is an insert reading "By C.T. Dazey Author of Old Kentucky/Jacob Litt Proprietor.”
  • A rare show from the Star Theatre, which originally (as Wallack's) featured German-language drama. Not one of Dazey's most successful ventures (it followed the huge success of "In Old Kentucky"), although the closing date is not registered and Bordman writes that it "almost succeeded." The production featured Madeline Bouton and Malcolm Williams.
