Two Yao (Iu Mien) women pose for a photograph at the New Year celebrations in the Yao town of Nam Kheung (LS-150, PC 3256) in Houa Khong Province. One is holding a plate with small jiggers and the other a bottle of lao lao, a traditional liquor made from distilled rice. The jiggers will be filled with the lao lao and offered to guests as they arrive for the celebrations. The two are wearing their most elaborate clothing, worn only for celebrations like this.
