The cloisters were decorative not functional as Salisbury was a secular and not a monastic cathedral. They were constructed 1270-1300 in the early Decorated Gothic style with bar tracery. Each opening has two pair of lancets each with an encircled quatrefoil beneath a unifying arch. At the top is an encircled quatrefoil with deep molding.
