James Martois, a Fulbright Scholar teaching in Pakxe, Laos, visited Houa Khong Province and various local villages around Ban Houei Sai during his summer vacation. Along with Martois came Mr. Teung, who was a USAID field assistant formerly in the village of Houei Kong, Attapu Province. They are standing with two Akha women on the banks of the Mekong River near the village of Houei Hee Noi. The women have gathered medicinal plants to take back to their village.
