COLOPHON: "This book was conceived and designed by Ligorano/Reese. The artists began working on Turning Leaves of Mind during an artist residency at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in Woodside, California, in Spring 2002. The photographs are of books from archives and libraries throughout Spain. Nora Ligorano undertook this research as a Fulbright scholar and continued her investigations in Spain with a grant from the Kress Foundation. The artists scanned, enlarged and cropped the images using Adobe Photoshop. The images are from slides of 13-17th century Spanish book structures that Ligorano photographed during 1982-84. Gerrit Lansing wrote the poem that appears throughout this book. Marshall Reese wrote the index inside the front and back covers. The text is set in Book Antiqua and manipulated in Adobe Illustrator. The index is set in Bodoni. The artists wish to thank Steve Clay and everyone at Granary Books for their friendship and support and for their commitment and interest in this project. Turning Leaves of Mind was printed in an edition of 700 copies of which twenty-six are specially bound by Daniel Kelm at the Wide Awake Garage in Easthampton, Massachusetts, letterd and signed by the artists and poet."
